Bringing out the best in natural materials.
We design and build new objects, primarily in wood, including furniture, lamps, screens and boxes.
We re-imagine old objects, focussing on what they could be. Sometimes a sand and polish. Sometimes a re-design.
Every object has an innate beauty contained in the materials it is made of. Our job is to enhance that beauty. New pieces give freedom to make what we want. Old pieces place more restrictions: sometimes too much work devalues a piece. Sometimes the beauty is concealed. Or the materials are more valuable than the piece itself, and a new work is born.
Designing, Making & Selling Furniture and Objects
New Zealand is gifted with beautiful native softwoods, but avid gardeners have planted exotic hardwoods that love it here, and often end up as mulch when they get cut down. We try to rescue the intrinsic beauty in all woods.
We design our own furniture and objects. We also work with you to design and make what you need.
